Dara Bevington
Dara is a Program Associate in the Education program, where she provides administrative and grantmaking support.
Before joining the foundation, Dara was a senior program associate in grants management at the National Children’s Alliance. There, she managed a grant portfolio of over two million dollars in federal grants that supported Children’s Advocacy Centers across the country. Prior to that role, Dara was a program grants specialist for the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital, where she partnered with external partners and vendors to create curriculum for girls and worked with grant funders.
Dara has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a specialization in inclusion for grades K-3. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree, she also studied at the University of the Philippines, working directly with local students. As an East Tennessee native, she is on the constant search to find Southern cuisine in California, while also on the continual quest for new and delicious local foods.
